65th Place Kitchen

I was finally able to get some pictures of the finished kitchen, well, mostly finished anyway.  I still have some trim to add, a door to paint, and a window sill to add bla bla bla etc. etc. etc.  It's done enough ok!  Maybe when Samira stops trying to kill herself on the stairs I'll start on the punch list.

Por fin he podido sacar fotos de la cocina ya terminada, mayormente terminada más bien.  Todavía tengo que  poner un poco de rodapie, pintar una puerta, terminar la ventana, bla bla bla etc. etc. etc.  ¡Está bien como está!  Quizás cuando la Samira deja de intentar matarse en las escaleras vuelva yo a terminar los detalles.

We still need some bar stools and my birthday just happens to be coming up.........just sayin'.

Todavía necesitamos cuatro taburetes  para la barra y, ahora que lo pienso, mi cumpleaños está por llegar.........sólo lo digo por si....... 

I ran the vent through the roof so the exhaust fan actually does what its name implies (the exhaust fan in our last house just sucked the air up and blew it back into your face, well, my face anyway.  Eli isn't tall enough to have been able to enjoy the experience.)  

Corrí la tubería del ventilador por el techo y el tejado también para que el ventilador pueda cumplir con lo que su nombre indica (el ventilador que teníamos en la otra casa chupaba el aire y lo echaba en la cara, bueno, mi cara.  Eli no es lo suficientemente alta para disfrutar de la experiencia.)

It actually says no when you open the door and look from the other side.  I just happened to be painting when Natalia came up and asked for something.  Now when she asks I just tell her to go see the door haha.  She probably hates me.

La verdad es que dice no al abrir la puerta y lo ves desde el otro lado.  Es que estaba pintando aquel lado de la puerta cuando Natalia vino a preguntarme algo.  Ahora cuando me pide algo le digo que vaya a ver la puerta.  Seguro que me odia.

What do you think of the pendant lighting?  The junction box wasn't centered over the table so we had this idea.  Now we can have the table where we want it and still have room for some bar stools, yep, the ones someone is going to get me for my birthday.

¿Qué piensas de las luces esas que cuelgan?  La caja eléctrica no estaba centrada sobre la mesa así que tuvimos esta idea.  Ahora podemos poner la mesa donde sea y tener espacio para los taburetes, sí, esos que álguien me va a comprar por mi cumpleaños.

The window faces the backyard so now I can yell at the kids playing in the back as well as the golfers as they are about to tee off.

La ventana da hacia la parte detrás de la casa así que puedo gritar a los niños cuando juegan afuera y también a los que están jugando al golf.
