Samira is nine months and we thought that we better get some family pictures before she gets all grown up.  We were sure none of the pictures would turn out with kids making faces and looking the other way and everything but we were surprised with some good ones.

Samira ahora tiene nueve meses y pensamos mejor sacar unas fotos de familia antes de que ella sea grande.  Estábamos seguros de que ninguna foto saliera bien con eso de los peques haciendo caras y mirando hacia donde no debían pero estuvimos sorprendidos con algunas fotos buenas.

Flashback Friday España 2006

My favorite city in Spain, Granada.  It has everything!  Mountains and skiing, beach, beautiful city, and the Alhambra. 

Mi ciudad preferida en España, Granada.  ¡Tiene de todo!  Montañas para esquiar, playa, ciudad bonita y la Alhambra. 

Eli's cousins have a house out in the country near Jaén in a city called Andújar with tons of olive trees.  Her uncle recently started buying goats and selling their milk.  This trip we got there in time to see all the playful baby goats and Natalia loved giving them their bottles.

Fuimos a Andújar cerca de Jaén donde los primos de Eli tienen una huerta de olivos.  Su tío recientemente empezó a comrar cabras para vender su leche.  En este viaje llegamos a tiempo para ver los chotos y a Natalia le encantó darle su leche en biberón.

Samira y su espárrago.  No lo suelta por nada.  Eso sí que lo entiende mi niña, ¡que el espárrago es lo mejor que hay!

Samira and her asparagus.  She won't let go for anything.  Now this is a girl that gets it; asparagus is the best that there is!

Braveheart, 300, RSL?

This is a pretty cool ad spot I came across for my RSL.  Man I hope I can make it to a game when we're in Utah this summer!

Flashback Friday Utah 2004

Si es que parecemos cansados en esta foto es que estabamos cansados.  Sacamos estas fotos en Utah unos cuatro meses después de que naciera Natalia, nuestro primero.  Por lo que he oido los bebés te dejan revolucionado.  Ahora depués de tres no somos menos cansados sino que estamos entumecidos.  Y fíjate que los que sí han pillado sueño (mi hermano Steve y cuñada Cristy) también son los que durmieron la noche entera. 

Hablando de cansado, anoche Samira se despertó a las tres de la madrugada y me tuve que estar con ella hasta las cinco.  Y encima, durante el día no quiso tomar su segunda siesta la capulla (y eso que tengo el toque mágico y logré dormirla tres veces pero cada vez que le ponía en la cuna se despertaba ¡que mala suerte!

Eli and I look tired in these pictures four months or so after Natalia, our first, was born, and truth is we were exhausted.  Babies will do that to you I've heard.  Now, three kids later we aren't any bit less tired, just fully numb.  And go figure, the two people in the picture that are able to squeeze in a little snooze (my brother Steve and his wife Cristy) are the ones that also probably slept all night. 

Speaking of tired, yesterday I was up with Samira from three to five in the morning and wouldn't you know it, she flat out refused to take her second nap (I actually have the magic touch and was able to get her to sleep three times in a row but each time I put her in her crib she woke right up).

I think Alejandro was born permanently silly and I don't know, I guess Alejandro brings out my silly side as well.  He had to have silly clothes and hair for Dr. Seuss' birthday party at school so I busted out the goo and had fun making crazy hair.  Maybe I should try out a new look for my hair and do it like Alejandro.

Creo que el Alejandro nació con un caráctar gracioso y no sé, parece que me saca el mi lado gracioso también.  Tenía que llevar el pelo así y ropa también para su fiesta de cumpleaños de Dr. Seuss así que saqué la gomina y lo pasamos bien.  Quizás pueda estrenar un nuevo parecer de pelo así como lo tiene el Alejandro.

Flashback Friday

Eli graduated from BYU with a MS in stats in 2004.  Looking back it's funny that she didn't realize know she would have to learn English and pass an exam prior to entering her program (stats is math after all and math has its own language you know).  So she learned English and then started her program.  Meanwhile I finished the last year of my BA in Spanish.  After I finished that I worked during Eli's last year framing houses, the hands down most awesomest job I have ever had!

Eli se graduó de BYU con su masters en estadística en el 2004.  Es gracioso que ella no se dio cuenta que tendría que aprender inglés y aprobar un examen ántes de empezar su programa (estadística es matemática y la matemática tiene su propio idioma ¿lo sabes?).  Así que aprendió el inglés y después empezó el programa.  Mientras tanto yo terminé el último año de mi bachillerato en español.  Después de eso, trabajé durante el último año del programa de Eli construyendo casas, el trabajo más guay y divertido que he tenido.

Samira Voladora

Le digo no pero me pide mas y mas.  Antes estaba contenta con un simple tiro pero ahora quiere vueltas y mas.  Como puedo resistir cuando le hace tan feliz?

I try to tell her no but she asks for it more and more.  Before she was content with a simple toss in the air but now she wants spins and flips and more.  What can I do to resist when it makes her so happy?

10, 9, 8, 7,..............2, 1 y DESPEQUE!!!

Alejandro is such a plunker!  Throwing my airplane right into the ground like that.  He did get his to go pretty far a few times.  I only dropped my camera once during the filming and it seems to have survived.

El Alejandro es un capullo!  Tirando mi avion hacia el suelo!  El hizo que volara bastante bien su avion un par de veces.  Y solo deje caer mi camera una vez durante la grabacion y parece que esta bien.

Flashback Friday

These are some pictures of a spring clean-up at my parent's in Kaysville in 2001.  My Dad got a little crazy when my mom wasn't around and told us to chop everything down.  Of course, my Mom nearly killed him afterwards because she loves all the trees.  It was mostly fun but a little scary when my brothers Steve and Mike got a hold of the chainsaw.

Estas son algunas fotos se sacaron en la casa de mis padres en Kaysville en 2001.  Mi padre se pasó bastante cuando mi madre no estaba diciéndonos que cortáramos todo.  Mi madre casi le mata después porque le gustan todos los árboles.  Fue divertido en mayor parte pero un poco espantoso cuando mis hermanos Steve y Mike usaban la motosierra.

Tsunami Anyone?

Having the "stinky kid" in school versus the inherent risks of bath time, like bubbly tsunamis and water damage due to frequency of exposure.  Maybe a shower could be the compromise for this conflict.

Tener los niños apestosos en la escuela comparado con los riesgos de tener los en la bañera, tal como tsunamis con burbujas y daño de agua en el piso debido de tenerlo tan frequentemente mojado.  Quizás el compromiso de este conflicto podría ser una ducha.

65th Place Kitchen

I was finally able to get some pictures of the finished kitchen, well, mostly finished anyway.  I still have some trim to add, a door to paint, and a window sill to add bla bla bla etc. etc. etc.  It's done enough ok!  Maybe when Samira stops trying to kill herself on the stairs I'll start on the punch list.

Por fin he podido sacar fotos de la cocina ya terminada, mayormente terminada más bien.  Todavía tengo que  poner un poco de rodapie, pintar una puerta, terminar la ventana, bla bla bla etc. etc. etc.  ¡Está bien como está!  Quizás cuando la Samira deja de intentar matarse en las escaleras vuelva yo a terminar los detalles.

RSL BABY!!!

RSL advances in CONCACAF Champion's League semifinals!  And beating the Columbus Crew 4-1, such fun to watch.  Check out the highlights if you missed it.  By the way, they are the first MLS team to make it this far in the tournament.

¡RSL avanza a los semifinales de CONCACAF Champion's League!  Y tan divertido de verlos ganar a los de Columbus Crew 4-1.  Echa un vistazo al video abajo si lo perdiste.  Y para que sepas, RSL es el primer equipo de la MLS que llega a los semifinales.
