I traded in my cool for a minivan. When I was younger I made a vow to never ever buy a minivan....and years later I have had to rescind that vow. In my defense, I made that vow back when baby boomers were booming and minivans like the Astro and Aerostar, the Voyager and the Safari ruled the roads. Now that I am a parent and we are expecting our third kid, I have come to realize that my "cool" isn't nearly as important as comfort and we now have loads of that with this slate green Honda Odyssey.

Amazing
My grandma, Arveda Pritt, passed away peacefully the other day at 102 years old. Amazing! I knew her mostly through stories I heard from my mom and dad and didn't really get to know her personally since she lived so far away. What I do know about her is that she was an amazing woman. She always stood up for herself, which wasn't always easy for women back then. She married my grandpa after my grandma died and reunited my dad with his siblings, who had been separated after my grandma's death, and my dad and his siblings became her children. She always served others in the community and church. She was self reliant and maintained her own garden and canned what she grew even at the ripe old age of 100 (neighbors helped her tighten the lids as she got older and couldn't do it herself.) She was sharp mentally up to her death a few days ago. She really was amazing.

Wanting...
Winter here in Indiana is like expecting a return on your taxes and finding out you owe Uncle Sam a big fat one....check that is. Yep, winter is always found wanting in my opinion and I find myself wanting spring to hurry on up. Anyway, this clip is of Alejandro tearing it up on his Batman bike back when life was warm.

We put our house up for sale and got a little puppy at around the same time. Needless to say, that between keeping the house clean for showings, chasing kids, puppy training, keeping the house clean, looking for homes, car shopping and the hollidays, there has not been tons of time for pictures and posting. Now it's time to catch-up.
Starting with Sasha, out little Shih-Tzu puppy. My family had Lhasa Apsos growing-up and they are the perfect little dogs to have around. Smart, quiet, clean and definately good watch dogs. Shih-Tzus were bread from the Lhasas and share many traits and since I couldn't find a Lhasa breader, we ended up with a Shih-Tzu. She leaned the sit command in one training session and stay in another. She can stay on command while I sweep and mop the kitchen floor and uses her doggy door on a regular basis to do her business. She loves snatching toys, shoes, socks, her food dish and whatever she can get her paws on and take them outside for her chewing pleasure.
