Dance Fever

It's pretty obvious from this video that Alejandro didn't inherit any dance/rhythm genes from me since I didn't have any to give him.  Maybe he'll get by in life with his awesome curly hair which he did get from me.  And poor little Samira, what chances she had at developing some natural rhythm on her own are now ruined since she'll probably copy her brother.

By the way, you gotta love the color of our walls in the living room.  I'm sure there's a name for the color it is but I don't have any idea what it is.  We could just paint it but painting vs. the other to dos puts it pretty far down the list.  Our house does have a kind of islandy feel to it with all the awesome colors on the walls in all the rooms but as soon as I start to feel a little bit happy I look out the window and realize there isn't a pristine white beach with beautiful waves lapping the shore and a nice breeze blowing in on the island of Jamaica.  Instead it's snow and ice and lifeless Indiana.  And then I think man, I gotta paint these walls.

The Loves of My Life

I never in a million years would have believed that the two loves of my life would come together in such a way!  And yes Eli, you and the kids always come first as evidenced by my complete absense from the slopes as well as the infrequency soccer balls have with coming in contact with my feet.  Now lets see.....I'll need my snowboard, coat, gloves, full tank of gas, my map to Red Bull Arena in New Jersey, my RSL jersey cause there's no way I'm hitting those jumps with a Red Bull jersey, and oh yea, I'll need a variety of back pain medicine for my recovery.  Sweet video.  Enjoy!

Alejandro runs around the house singing the song from Spectacular Spiderman and slings his webs all over the house.  Maybe I'll get him some silly string for his birthday....or maybe not.

This week we've had an ice storm in Indianapolis that dropped around two inches of ice all over streets, homes, cars and everything else.  Normal people stay inside the house in front of a fire with their hot chocolate and a blanket enjoying the wintery views through the windows.....Were not normal I guess.

Abuelita

Eli's mom came to visit from Spain just after we got home from Florida and she has been helping us get moved in and settled.  Needless to say we are loving the flan, paella, croquetas, arroz con leche, pollo al ajillo, espaguetti, tortilla de patata (man I´m getting hungry!), tortilla francesa, sopa de pollo, y potaje.  She leaves in just one week and both Eli and I are starting to dread the fact that both of us are going to have to get used to my cooking again.  It's hard to settle for a groomed mountain when you've had a day of snowboarding in three feet of perfect powder!  The kids have loved having her here, especially Natalia and Samira.  The kids are wearing their new pajamas that Abuelita bought for them.
