Fishing..........for crawdads

The kids and I went with the Barkers on a bike ride to one of the little ponds in our community to hunt crayfish and whatever else we could find.  I hadn't prepared anything for dinner so I got to thinking that some typical Louisiana Cajun dish like Crawfish Etouffee might just suit us fine.  Even though Jared caught around 15 of the little buggers (many of which were females tending to their eggs and wouldn't have counted anyway), it was hardly the 1 lb. the recipe called for....so catch and release it was.  I guess we'll have to save this recipe for later.

We also caught a Bullfrog tadpole which is HUGE and decided to keep it and watch it develop into a frog.  Maybe we'll have to fry up some Cajun style frog legs.
