The Sunroom project began as a summer project but is now turning into a whole year project thanks to all of Samira's help. We really had to do this because the sunroom that was here before was falling apart. The wood for the walls was rotten and falling apart, the mortor the cement blocks were set in was broken and cracking, water was getting in all the time, screens were torn and on top of that we had about 30 house sparrows that were nesting in the rafters. So the first thing I had to do was brace up the roof, the only structurally sound part of the sunroom, and knock out all the walls and cement blocks, layout the walls with the doors and windows and get my bottom plate down. By the way, shooting nails down through the bottom plate into cement with a Ramset gun is dangerously fun.
La renovación de este sunroom se iba a hacer durante el verano pero ahora parece que es el projecto del año gracias a la ayuda constante de Samira. Teníamos que hacerlo porque estaba todo roto y pudrido, entraba un montón de agua cuando llovía y más o menos treinta pájaros haciendo nidos en la parte de arriba. Primero tenía que apoyar el tejado, la única parte de la habitación que se encontraba bien, con unos cuantos postes. Y entonces tumbar las paredes pudridas y los bloques de cemento. Después tenía que poner la base de las paredes nuevas marcadas con sus ventanas y puertas. Y para que sepas, disparar clavos atravez de la madera y cemento con una pistola de esas es peligrosamente divertido.
